Thus far I absolutely love this new author I found on my kindle!I really like how in the beginning the author defines our enemy. Our enemy is ruthless and utilitizes us humans in that we starting acting out that we are indeed like sheep. We tend to follow our fleshly desires and we soon forget how narrow of a road our desires take us on.
I love this quote from the book" "A smart predator gives the sheep just enough light, to follow the only path they can see, but not enough light to see the end of that path, or to see the traps and pitfalls along the way." Doesn't that sound like real life a lot of times?
In the very first chapter the main character John Wesley Tucker gets right into the heart of things, when after he came home late one night and after he has fallen asleep, he hears the neighbors fighting and he knows his neighbor Molly is being abused once again. He goes next door and starts pounding on the door till Molly's boyfriend opens the door then pushes his way in to try and defuse the situation. He does what needs to be done to help his neighbor Molly out of a helpless situation.
Another couple of important characters that I liked were, John's friend, Detective Sergeant Tony Escalante and Dustin a homeless guy that sees things nobody else sees. With Dustin, I am reminded of this quote by Sherlock Holmes: "The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes."
Dect Sgt Tony is an important player in this story for he helps John out whenever he can but Dect Sgt Tony likes to play it by the book which sometimes annoys John.
John Wesley Tucker, is a private investigator tries his best to help people, find missing persons, and do surveillance. All through the story John tries to put others first and to share God with others. John tries to be a player from this verse: Matthew 10:16 “Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves." But John still knows that there are times when you will have to use your assault weapons to defend yourself and others in conflict.
As the character Dustin says in the book: "Ole devil don't need to kill you, or take you prisoner. He just needs you to quit fighting."
I got this book because I love the author's way of writing but also because the title intriqued me.
If you like action, danger, and mystery then make this book next on your reading list!

I only wish I was as good an example and could have the words and bravery to use them! I hope you have the courage in real life to speak as you do about God and our Savior, Jesus Christ! Enjoyed the various plots and detective work too! I will definitely recommend your book to any that will take the time to read it!
Started reading this author's westerns, husband really liked them. the suspense novels were suggested to us.....and I am glad he did. this is great reading....I (the wife) like the humor mixed throughout. I liked suspense novels, my husband goes for the western, but now we have a great author in common now..
This is about JW Tucker, a private investigator who loves God.
I like reading books that are 'clean' and appropriate for all ages. I liked the story but it lacked something. I felt like I was on the outside of a square box looking in. No curves and corners to the story, just flat surface. It read some what like an auto-biography, a check off list of J.W.'s daily routine.
A solid 2 stars out of 5.
The basic story was mildly entertaining, but the preaching that frequently took up whole chapters meant the actual story was very abreviated. The author needs to focus on his stories or else focus on being a preacher. I do appreciate the lack of heavy drinking and graphic sex however.
Excellently written and worth reading. I enjoyed this book because of the mystery excitement thrill fear sadness love loss happiness. It had it also and opened my eyes to lightly added biblical interpretation and information. I would recommend this book and I actually, on completing the book immediately offered it to my best friend.
A mix of Christian apologetics and human depravity which, oddly enough, balance out rather well. As with other of his books, continues to present the issue of when, how and even whether violence is compatible with the Christian life. In spite of the Christian world view, the plot is robust, tense and fully satisfying in its own right as well. All in all, I think most folks might well be surprised at the solidity of both type of content.
As one that is returning to Christ, this reader quickly downloaded many non-fiction books to better understand God's Word and His plan for her life.
Also, I downloaded many Christian fiction books. What can I say, I love a good story.
Imagine my surprise when I read ANGELS AND IMPERFECTIONS Book One By Daniel Roland Banks - a fictional book I "bought" for free (for entertainment purposes only) through - and it helped me more than most of those non-fictions.
As John Tucker used God's Word to help those to understand and accept God in their lives, the words helped me as well.
Plus, it was a "great" story.
Dan's work here is truly a blessing from God to anyone who reads it.
I thank the LORD for bringing this book into my life.
